After years of not disliking, but having no particular passion for, my violin, I really want to get back into developing my technique and skill. I guess I should have expected it seeing as I haven’t been putting much effort into my saxophone practice of late and I’ve gained a love of folk music. Because of time constraints and exams I probably won’t get a chance to until the summer, when I also want to get my bebop improvisation sorted to a reasonable level on my sax. So, if all goes to plan, by the end of the summer, I’ll be the next Seth Lakeman on violin and the next Cannonball Adderley on sax…wish me luck!

Just in case my girlfriend texts me when she gets back

First things first, I’m not a fan of writing these sort of posts. I don’t mind it at all when others do this, everyone has to express their feelings some how, but most of the time I don’t feel like my problems are worth writing about. Now, however, I feel like I need to get this off of my chest.

My girlfriend is in Rome all week, and I really miss her. We’ve had a long distance relationship for over a year now, usually seeing each other every few weeks, and spending alot of time together in the holidays, but that doesn’t make this any easier. Due to unavoidable circumstances, we haven’t seen each other in a month now. We’ve gone this long a couple of times before, but never any longer. I spoke to her before she left about meeting up once she was back but it seems like it’ll be yet another week…5 weeks without seeing her face…

My only comfort when I go to bed at night is knowing that it’s the same moon in both the sky she sees and the one I see.

This project, and all the other college work I’m getting, is still taking up most of my time I’m afraid. My teachers seem to think I’m only interested in doing their subject. BUT the end appears to be in sight, so hopefully I’ll get back to posting this week! Sorry again for the wait

With college work overtaking my life, I don’t think I’ll be able to post on here much (if at all) over the next few days. Once I get this one massive project done I should be able to get back to posting, until then though, I’m sorry to say you’ll be getting very little from me. See you all soon…
